Daylight falling across a calm, uncluttered clinic room at Open Loom Clinic.

A small general practice

Care that is woven, not handed off.

Open Loom is a neighbourhood clinic where your doctor, physiotherapist and counsellor work from one shared plan — so you tell your story once and it stays told.

Appointments are 30 minutes as standard. Same-week sessions are kept open for patients who need to be seen sooner.

Care areas

Six threads, one practice

Most people come to us for one thing and stay for the rest. Every area below sits under the same roof and the same set of notes, so a referral inside the clinic is a conversation rather than a waiting list.

Family medicine

Your first stop for anything unclear: coughs that linger, skin that changes, results you would like explained slowly.

  • Check-ups
  • Vaccinations
  • Referrals

Women's health

Contraception, cycle concerns, menopause and pregnancy care, with continuity of clinician from one visit to the next.

  • Screening
  • Menopause
  • Antenatal

Children & teens

Growth reviews, childhood illness and the awkward questions teenagers would rather ask without a parent in the room.

  • Development
  • Asthma
  • Allergies

Physiotherapy

Hands-on assessment for backs, shoulders and knees, then a home programme written in plain language you will actually follow.

  • Injury
  • Posture
  • Recovery

Mental wellbeing

Talking sessions for sleep, anxiety and low mood, coordinated with your doctor when medication is part of the picture.

  • Counselling
  • Sleep
  • Stress

Ongoing conditions

Steady, unhurried review of diabetes, blood pressure, thyroid and asthma — planned ahead so nothing quietly lapses.

Your visit

How a first appointment works

Three steps, and no forms in a waiting room. Everything we need is gathered before you arrive.

  1. Step one

    Send a request

Use the form at the end of this page. Tell us what is going on in your own words and which part of the week suits you.

  2. Step two

    We match you

A coordinator reads every request and pairs you with the clinician best placed to help, then confirms a session by email.

  3. Step three

    Come in, unhurried

Thirty minutes to talk it through. You leave with a written plan, and whoever you see next already has it.

Our approach

One set of notes, kept by people who know you

The clinic is named for a loom because that is how we think about a person's health: separate threads that only make sense together. Our clinicians meet weekly over shared cases, which means the physiotherapist knows what your doctor is watching, and your counsellor is not starting from a blank page.

Continuity by default
You are assigned a named clinician and stay with them unless you ask to change.
Thirty-minute sessions
Long enough to ask the second question — the one that is usually the real one.
Plain-language plans
Every visit ends with a written summary of what we found and what happens next.

Weekly case review: the clinical team reads across every thread of a patient's care.

Practitioners

Who you will be seeing

You may request a particular clinician in the form below. If you are not sure who fits, leave it to us — we will suggest someone and say why.

Questions

Before you come in

Do I need to be registered to book a first visit?

No. A first appointment can be requested by anyone. We will set up your record when you arrive, and you can decide afterwards whether to stay with the practice.

Can you see my records from a previous practice?

Only with your written permission. If you would like us to request them, mention it in the notes field of the form and we will send you the consent paperwork to sign at your first visit.

How long is an appointment?

Thirty minutes as standard, and a first visit is often the full slot. Physiotherapy assessments and counselling sessions are booked longer.

Is the clinic step-free and accessible?

Yes — level entry, wide consulting-room doors and an accessible washroom. If you use a wheelchair, need a hearing loop or would prefer a ground-floor room, tell us in the form so the right room is held for you.

What if I am unwell today and cannot wait?

Choose “Any — soonest available” in the form and say so in the notes; a coordinator reads those requests first and we keep same-week sessions open for them. For anything severe or sudden, please use your local emergency service rather than this form — it is not monitored continuously.

Request a visit

Tell us what is going on

One short form. A coordinator reads it and replies by email with a confirmed session — usually within one working day.

Please do not include sensitive test results here. If your situation is urgent or severe, contact your local emergency service instead.
